Vange: Jack, I don't know what to say. You taught me what it means to love deeply and to be loved in return. You reminded me of my identity in Christ, how I was adopted and redeemed, without any expectation. I miss you terribly especially our last moments together, before I left for work. I hugged you and cried, and you knew; you cried with me too. You knew, Jack. You knew you were sick. Yet you persevered despite your challenges, your pain, your suffering. I will always miss you and hold a special place for you in my heart. I wish to meet you in heaven again, Jack, running again with all four limbs, with a healthy body and brain that knows no suffering and pain. I am so glad I took you in, because you got to enjoy a home and knew love for the last three months of your life. Perhaps you will tell me when we meet again. I love you so much.
